Turning on a closed off industry
Connecting on-chain capital to real-world reinsurance risk — unlocking stable, uncorrelated returns that are liquid, composable and accessible for the first time.
We are the first company to be approved by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) as a fully licensed reinsurer under both the Digital Asset Business Act (DABA) and the Insurance Act (IIGB).
This unique regulatory framework allows OnRe to accept digital assets as collateral, scale placements with leading insurers, and maintain full compliance to align capital more transparently and efficiently than ever before.
Our structured reinsurance product provide institutional and crypto-native investors with direct access to real-world yield, designed to perform in both bull and bear markets. With a focus on transparency, scalability, and capital efficiency, OnRe is redefining how reinsurance capital is structured, managed, and scaled.

Trusted by industry leaders

We were thrilled to see the announcement that Nayms (now OnRe) has graduated from the Bermuda Monetary Authority’s (BMA) sandbox in not one, but two licence classes. Their Class F (Full) Digital Asset Business licence, and an Innovative Insurer General Business (IIGB) licence will allow OnRe to continue to expand their presence on Island, and demonstrate Bermuda’s capacity to serve as the jurisdiction of choice for innovative digital asset businesses.

We have worked with OnRe in our capacity as a broking firm, originating new and alternative capital for the reinsurance market and providing our clients with innovative options for reinsurance coverage and risk transfer solutions.
The digital asset space is fast evolving and continues to establish itself as a permanent part of the broader capital markets. For the reinsurance market, digital assets offer a new source of capital that, if transformed correctly, can provide investors with returns uncorrelated to their digital asset portfolios.

Working with OnRe has allowed us to access a new source of reinsurance capacity that’s both innovative and well-structured. Their model is a thoughtful step forward — connecting capital to risk in a way that reflects where the market is heading, while upholding the trust and frameworks the industry is built on.

As an active DeFi user, I appreciate how OnRe offers yield opportunities through its tokenized insurance pool, providing the opportunity to deploy capital into uncorrelated and actuarially priced returns. Having this diversified insurance program not only enhances my own risk management but also delivers consistent, attractive yields backed by a regulated, transparent, and liquid reinsurer.
Our leadership team

Dan Roberts
Co-Founder and CEO
Dan Roberts is a multiple award-winning entrepreneur with a track record of building ventures across consumer goods, digital media, smart cities, healthcare, and blockchain. He entered the blockchain space through healthcare before leading operations at early-stage startups.
His exploration of the intersection between insurance and blockchain led to the creation of Nayms. After six years as Co-Founder and CEO, he scaled the platform from concept to a fully regulated (re)insurance marketplace, enabling on-chain capital to invest in tokenized insurance programs.
That original vision has since evolved into OnRe — the world’s on-chain reinsurance company — opening access for on-chain capital markets to invest in (re)insurance risk. Dan continues to lead the company as Co-Founder and CEO, focused on expanding its reach, scaling the product, and positioning OnRe at the forefront of the industry.

Theodore Georgas
Co-Founder and CTO
Ted Georgas is a seasoned technologist with over two decades of experience delivering complex systems across industries including pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, finance, military, government, telecom, and most recently, blockchain and insure-tech.
His work has spanned global markets — from the US and UK to Norway, South Africa, and the UAE — blending deep technical expertise with an understanding of regulatory, operational, and business process challenges.
As Co-Founder and CTO of Nayms, Ted defined the company’s technical vision and led the buildout of a secure, scalable platform for tokenized, real-world insurance programs.
That foundation now powers OnRe, and Ted continues to lead OnRe’s engineering efforts, focused on evolving the architecture, driving innovation, and delivering resilient infrastructure for the next era of reinsurance.

David Verbeeten
Co-Founder and COO
David Verbeeten brings a unique blend of insurance and blockchain expertise, with nearly a decade in reinsurance and more than seven years working with blockchain applications. He began his career as a casualty treaty underwriter at Munich Re Canada, where he also helped develop early cyber insurance offerings. He later joined ConsenSys as Insurance Lead and Senior Crypto/Data Research Scientist, where he authored one of the first underwriting frameworks for blockchain risk.
David was instrumental in the early commercial development of Nayms, contributing to its product strategy and regulatory positioning.
Today, he serves as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at OnRe, where he helps lead company-wide strategy while overseeing operations, compliance, and internal systems. He plays a central role in aligning product, capital, and governance functions — bringing structure to a fast-moving business and helping drive the broader vision for the company.

Matthew Wixon
General Counsel
Matthew Wixon is an experienced legal counsel with a background in both traditional insurance and digital assets. Prior to joining Nayms and now OnRe, he spent over five years at Generali, advising across life and non-life divisions on insurance and reinsurance agreements, commercial contracts, and regulatory matters.
His expertise spans legal strategy, data protection, and operational risk management — always with a focus on clarity, precision, and commercial alignment. As General Counsel, Matt leads legal strategy and ensures the company remains compliant, secure, and well-positioned for growth. He advises on insurance structuring, drafts and negotiates key agreements, and upholds regulatory standards.
He also manages external counsel relationships and oversees the company’s approach to data protection and legal risk. Matt plays a central role in reinforcing trust, protecting the business, and enabling OnRe’s continued scale.
